The Behavior options panel in the Interface Builder allows control over what happens when users click on a results card or a map marker.

The options are as follows:

Result Click

  • Open Marker Window - This pops up the small window shown directly above the map marker (as shown above). This behavior will ensure that the map marker window is fully visible by panning the map.

  • Zoom to Marker - This option focuses the map around the result by zooming in and panning directly to the result. It will zoom in to the zoom value found under Map Settings > Zoom Level on Single Result.

  • Open Details View - This option opens the details pane when the card is clicked. This option only loads the details when an otherwise non-clickable portion of the card is clicked. For example, it won't open the details pane if the user clicked an email or phone number, as that might obstruct what the user was going to do next.

Marker Click on Mobile

On mobile devices, you can present a different behavior compared to the desktop experience. We offer this because in some configurations the map might be too small to display the full marker window; therefore it may make more sense to instead display the Details View on Marker Click on mobile only.

Redirect to first result's link field

This option is solely for use when the configuration requires that the user be bounced to a result-specific link instead of displaying results. This is rarely used, but helpful when using MetaLocator to route users to resources other than MetaLocator results.
