Yes you can easily add your MetaLocator interface of map, directory or spreadsheet to your website created with Volusion. MetaLocator integrates with nearly every type of website system. In this article, we show you how to install MetaLocator’s code into a Volusion.com powered website.

The first step is to create a MetaLocator interface, which is covered in our Getting Started video. This video shows all the steps necessary to configure the display which is termed in MetaLocator, an interface. Once you have created an interface, the final step in the process is to install that in your website.

While the Volusion website creation tool itself may change over time as to how this might be accomplished, you will always simply be creating a page to contain the locator and using the Volusion embed HTML code functionality to contain the MetaLocator installation code – no programming knowledge is needed. Once in place, changes to your data or the look and feel of your interface are accomplished through your MetaLocator administration menus without the need to visit or adjust your Volusion site or page.

1) Create a Volusion page that will contain your locator. We used this Volusion documentation to create an article. Alternatively, Volusion allows one to create pages rather than articles. Search their documentation for that detail.

2) Add your content: title, caption, etc.

3) Grab a copy of the MetaLocator installation code.

4) Paste the installation code into the Article Body section. Use the </> button to input as code. Also note in our example some special formatting required by Volusion. This article outlines the changes required by Volusion.

We also used Volusion documentation to add a category menu item and this is the end result.

Use the View Live function to check and adjust your page size and settings. We've not used any page formatting (HTML/CSS) within Volusion but it's conceivable one could. For fine tuning, these articles discuss how the area that MetaLocator consumes can be sized to your exact preferences.

If you wish to show locations with product availability MetaLocator allows for the passing of parameters to the locator page. For example, one could use the MetaLocator category feature in conjunction with the idea of products and categories within Volusion option to show certain products for a given product.  This article has specific documentation about such capability.

The product information page within Volusion rather than simply feature a link to the locator page, could instead designate a specific product or product set using the technique in the preceding article of tags=N as a passed parameter.

That is all there is to installing your MetaLocator interface into Volusion - enjoy!
